Womens Retreat Update September 9, 2008 Pre-Retreat Pep rally - Get ready, get ready, GET READY!!!! Come out on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. to show your excitement as we prepare to depart to St. Simon's Island Georgia. We are looking forward to this great fellowship as we come together to GROW closer to God and to shine brightly as "God's Women: Bold, Beautiful and Blessed". The pep rally will be held on third floor, and will provide additional pre-registration details. Important- Retreat attendees: On Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, please plan to arrive at the church no later than 8:00 am to check-in and prepare for a 9:00 am departure. We are very blessed to have over 100 women attending, so please limit your luggage to ONE piece and a carry-on. Remember to bring a pink shirt to wear on Saturday. Our discussion of the book "Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible," by Liz Curtis Higgs, will focus on the Introduction called "Controlling Interest" and the first FIVE chapters only.

This humorous look at practical women of the Bible who probably will remind you of yourself or someone you know is available at bookstores as well as at lizcurtishiggs.com. If you are attending the retreat, you may want to purchase a copy of the book and get a head-start on reading it to prepare for some exciting discussions! This ministry is a sanctioned organization of the church formed by and for the women on Zion. Our missions are to cultivate Christian principles, to facilitate and develop lay leaders, and to foster spiritual growth resulting in willing lifestyle changes. This ministry also encourages a Christian-based sisterhood of service while supporting and advancing the God-given vision or our pastor and overall purpose of the church.

This ministry is responsible for providing opportunities and an environment in which spiritual education and training is available for every woman--young, elderly, single, married, and widowed.
